  France’s highest rack-train

To reach Europe’s highest summit with ease could haven been thought to be a crazy idea but became a partial reality in 1907. At the end of a daring construction, the Tramway du Mont-Blanc (Mont-Blanc Tram) reached the end of the line in 1913 at the "Nid d’Aigle" at 2380 m.

Whatever the season, the Mont-Blanc Tram opens the doors to a veritable range of activities.

In summer, the Mont-Blanc tram takes travellers as far as the Nid d'Aigle, at the foot of the Bionassay glacier and under the Aiguille du Goûter; this is the starting point for numerous routes for rambles, mountain-biking, mountaineering, great climbs/hikes, etc..

In winter, because of the considerable snowfalls (sometimes up to 10 to 15 metres), the Mont-Blanc Tram stops at Bellevue in the heart of the Les Houches ski area. On arrival, young and old alike will be able to enjoy all the joys of winter : alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, walking or snow-shoeing, sledging, etc..
