Grands-Montets Area

Winter :

Situated between the altitudes of 1235 m. and 3300 m., the Grands Montets area enables you to ski the greatest height losses in the world in the heart of the mountains, close to a glacier. The pistes are spread over three slopes – the Argentière glacier, Lognan and the Pendant which also offer magnificent off-piste, known throughout the world and essential for freeriders. The quality of the snow coverage is remarkable up until May. For freestyle enthusiasts, a snowpark and a boardercross are open in the Lognan area. You can ski back to the resort on the Pierre à Ric piste.

Summer :

Setting out from Argentière, the cable car enables visitors to reach the Lognan plateau (1972m) then the Aiguille des Grands Montets (3295m). At this altitude, from the terrace of the snack bar sitting in a deck chair with a cup of tea or coffee, the view over the peaks of the Mont-Blanc chain is quite splendid.

From there, walking trails such as the « Point de Vue » (View Point), will take you to the most impressive icefalls in the Chamonix Valley.

On the Grands Montets in summer, you will be able to explore the high mountain world in complete safety, just a few meters away from the biggest glaciers in Europe.
